FIRST IMPRESSIONS

APPEARANCE: Lacy is an adult woman who stands at 5'10'' in height. She has fair freckled skin with a particular dusting on her nose and cheeks. Her hair is brown and typically styled into a side braid, often tied with a polka dot blue ribbon. Her eyes are blue. She loves to wear comfy, fashionable clothes.

FAIRY TRAITS: While most of the time she presents as a human, she has the capability of physically showing her fairy traits. Lacy was a human woman who transformed into a fairy, and hasn't got a good handle on her magic just yet. Because of this, she may trigger a transformation on accident during moments of emotional intensity. Her fairy traits include pronged antlers lined with blue hydrangeas, brown doe-like ears, speckled brown feathered wings and a long brown horse tail. Most of the time, these appear on accident.

FAIRY FORM: When fully transformed, Lacy turns into a Canterwit, which is the type of flower fairy species that she is. In this form, she is a quadruped hooved fairy with hydrangea flowers lining her antlers and brown feathered wings.

FASHION: Lacy looooves clothes! She's drawn to anything cute, comfortable and casual. Her favourite colours to wear are blues, creams, browns. She also loves anything with a polka dot pattern.

DEMEANOUR: Lacy is tall, clumsy and a little bit awkward. She seems to carry a tension in the way she collects her posture from her anxiety. She relaxes a lot when she's around those who she trusts and cares about, however.

SCENT: She carries a constant aroma of hydrangea flowers.

SCARS: Lacy has a few bumps and scrapes, but these are all from mundane incidents like falling off her bike.

VOICE: She has a thick northern English accent which might be difficult to understand at times. She uses a heavy amount of slang as well.

PERMISSIONS

SEXUALITY & PREFERENCES: Lacy is bisexual and not very good at identifying what she's attracted to. She has a lot of anxiety around dating and intimacy, which is why she's usually relied on alcohol when faced with either scenario.

SHIPPING: Yes please! She is an anxious creature but she'd thrive when she meets someone who loves her just the way she is.

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: If you're a close friend? Great! If you're a stranger? Ehh...

HUGGING: Friends preferred. She'd freeze up if a stranger hugged her.

KISSING: She wouldn't turn down a good smooch after a few drinks. While sober, though? Help her, she might die.

FLIRTING: Girl's got as much game as a stick. She's terrible at flirting and can never tell when people are flirting with her. To say that she's dense is an understatement. Once she realises what's happening, she'll blush into a frenzy.

SMUT: Yes! It might take a little bit of work, but I'm all for it. Lacy has always been drunk when she's had sex because one night stands are just easier. This chick needs to experience good sex.

Lacy is a whimsical, clumsy but incredibly kindhearted individual with a slight naïve streak. She struggles with social anxiety and insecurities, but her love of flowers and her friends help her keep her feet on the ground.

Various folk cultures and traditions assign symbolic meanings to plants and flowers. These meanings are synonymous with Lacy and her kind - as flower fairies, they carry certain characteristics that are represented by their flower. In her case, she grows blue hydrangeas, which symbolise "apology." This relevant to the remorse that Lacy feels about the past troubles she has experienced in life.

FLOWER GROWTH

As a flower fairy, flower growth is Lacy's primary power. Canterwit are creatures who have their magic fuelled by positive emotions and experiences. The happier she is and the more that people enjoy the flowers she grows, the more power she has. The passive act of someone smelling or admiring a flower that she has grown will strengthen her magic. She keeps her magic hidden to the best of her ability when she is disguised as a human, but sometimes she may sneeze and summon the appearance of blue hydrangea petals. Flowers also bloom when she feels intense emotions. In her fairy form, blue hydrangeas grow behind her while she walks and passively grow all around her when she's happy (in her hair, on the ground, etc.)

TRANSFORMATION

Lacy is a shapeshifter, capable of changing her form with limitations. Her powers are brand new so she's not the best at controlling them. In response to intense emotions, she may accidentally summon her Canterwit features such as her antlers, ears, wings and tail. She looks a little something like this with her features on show. With practise, she has managed to learn how to shapeshift into a dog and a bird.

OFFENSIVE & DEFENSIVE MAGIC

While Canterwit are usually gentle and friendly creatures, they've learned through past experiences that the ability to defend one's self is a necessary life skill while navigating a world that isn't as kind as their own. Despite this, Lacy hasn't been around in the world of Canterwit long enough to truly understand the importance of this. She isn't very strong, and she really isn't the best at fighting. She tries her best and has her own dual-blade weapon, but she desperately needs improvement. Her skills excel in healing magic, on the other hand - her pronounced empathy comes through in her magical abilities.

WEAKNESSES

There are several fairy-repellants which harshly affect a fairy like her. This all began when she transformed into one. Iron is the worst offender - any contact of iron to Lacy's skin will badly burn her. She greatly dislikes bread and will avoid it at all costs. Bread is associated with industry and the taming of nature, and as such, seems to be disliked by some types of fairies. She also dislikes bell chimes - especially church bells. The ringing of bells can confuse and disorient her.

The flower fairy that Lacy is - a creature called a Canterwit - is magical creature that represents a unique type of flower. This flower is the very essence of who they are, and it is the flower that they grow when they travel from place to place in order to power up their magic from beings passively enjoying their flowers. In Lacy's case, the flowers that she grows are blue hydrangeas. Canterwit are creatures capable of using magic, which allows them to cross over from realm to realm. They also use their magic for defensive and healing purposes, if necessary. Canterwit can transform, which is how they disguise themselves and blend in.

At the start of Spring, Canterwit leave their home realm of Anther to travel to Earth (or other lands) to grow their flowers, and by Autumn they are exhausted and return home to recharge their magic. As their magic is strengthened by positive emotions, they participate in uplifting activities to prepare them for the next Spring cycle! To encourage their passions and friendships, Canterwit align themselves into one of four houses for friendly competition. Lacy is a member of house Wrenbury - a house that values compassion and healing. Lacy spends most of her time on Earth and still considers it her home despite its flaws.

While Lacy is a fairy now, this wasn't always the case. After being abandoned by her parents, she was taken in by her Grandmother who was a florist. Shortly after her Grandmother died, Lacy inherited the flower shop and took over it. Lonely and depressed, she would vent all of her worries to the flowers since they were the only ones who could listen to her without judgement. Little did she know that flower fairies (Canterwit) were listening in, and all of them decided to use their magic to bring her to their world. This life changing experience put Lacy on a brand new path of healing, self-discovery and even proved to be beneficial to the fairies later down the line.

Lacy was just your average everyday twenty-something year old girl until she suddenly found herself waking up in a magical flower world called Anther. Now, she is part of a race of fairy creatures native to this same world - called Canterwit - who are responsible for the growth of flowers on Earth. Each Canterwit grows a specific flower - and in Lacy's case, the flowers that she grows are blue hydrangeas. Canterwit are creatures capable of using magic, which allows them to cross over from realm to realm. They also use their magic for defensive and healing purposes, if necessary. Canterwit can transform, which is how they disguise themselves and blend in. Lacy is a whimsical, clumsy but incredibly kindhearted individual with a slight naïve streak. She views herself as socially awkward/unlikeable but many close to her are charmed by her silly behaviour. She struggles with social anxiety and insecurities, but her love of flowers and her friends help her keep her feet on the ground. She now lives a double-life of being a "normal" human woman and a part-time fairy. Most of her time is spent on Earth instead of Anther.
